Organic Agriculture Division
All the essential themes for successful organic field crops will be covered: cropping systems and diversification, soil fertilization and fertility, weed management, choice of varieties, sorting. “We have chosen to concentrate information specific to organic farming in the organic division, but all the technical space can potentially be of interest to organic farmers. Just as the Organic Agriculture Center is obviously open to all visitors,” emphasizes Amélie Carrière, in charge of the AB program at Arvalis.
3 workshops will be covered within the cluster:
- A workshop will explore the construction of cropping systems and diversification, with species likely to lengthen the rotation and provide access to new outlets.
- The “soil fertilization and fertility” workshop with dedicated crop showcases, the presentation of the results of the Phosphobio project and a recognition game for Organic Waste Products that can be used in organic farming.
- The “organic weed management” workshop with cultivation displays, mechanical weeding equipment, the results of the Capable project on the management of dock and thistles and work on the germination potential of topped wild oats.
