The aim of Les Culturales®, a major French agricultural event, is to allow
farmers to better know the needs of the different markets, including non-food
industry, and to make theirs all the innovations to satisfy these demands while
remaining competitive.
Les Culturales® 2007 are organized by ARVALIS – Institut du végétal
with the collaboration of the CETIOM (Technical Center for Oilseed Crops), the
FNAMS (Seed Producers’ Association), the ITB (sugarbeet technical institute)
and the UNIP (Interprofessional Organisation of Protein Crops).

The “Adapting the farm” area will propose diagnosis and decision-making
tools to adapt my farm.
Farming systems
How to adapt my farming system to the local conditions and to the global
market ?
The “farming system” area will evaluate various cropping
systems and explain how to work out particular problems at the rotation
scale.
Cropping techniques
Variety, sowing density, weed control, fungicides,
fertilisation… Each
step of the farming system will be highlighted for each crop: cereals,
oilseeds, pulses, sugar beet.
What are the consequences of a min-till system?
You will discover on the “soil cultivation” area the advantages
and disadvantages of the most economic techniques of implementation.
You will also have access to the long term trial of soil cultivation,
which highlights the consequences of the min-til techniques at a long
term scale.
